About
Lead Pastor - Micah Harp
The founding of Christian Warriors Church reads like a modern day depiction of a beloved bible story. God took an untrained, unqualified, ordinary man and transformed him into a bold leader of God’s church. He was no biblical scholar. He had no college degree. He did not have years of training as an associate pastor under his belt. He was simply a self-employed family man, content with the life God had blessed him with. But God had bigger plans.
Lead pastor, Micah Harp, felt God move him to start a ministry in 2013. His relationship with God had grown intensely prior to that time and Micah could feel the Holy Spirit leading him to start something new; a movement. He was reluctant at first, as most are when God asks us to step out of our comfort zone. But as the confirmations began to show themselves, Micah understood and accepted what God was calling him to do.
Once Micah surrendered and said “yes,” God began putting everything in place. One after one, He put each man that would help found Christian Warriors Ministry directly in Micah’s path. All eight men shared the same desire and calling to give back and serve the community. Over the next six years, Christian Warriors Ministry touched countless lives, not only providing people with their needs, but with the love and word of God. Bibles, clothing, vehicles, and warm meals were among the tangible items donated. More importantly, this giving opened a door for Christian Warriors Ministry servers to lead others to Christ.
In May of 2019, God spoke to Micah again. The need for a movement was not over, but this time the stakes were higher. A church was needed that taught truth, real biblical truth. A church was needed that served others outside of its’ four walls. A church was needed that loved everyone no matter their sins, income, job, social circle, skin color, or background. A church was needed that could be a safe place for people to grow their faith and learn about Jesus. A church was needed that supported one another, gave second chances, and lived by the same characteristics as Jesus. A church that was REAL and did not hide their brokenness.
Micah agreed to plant this church. He could do that. He was a successful business man, after all, and understood how to start a new venture from the ground up. The only problem was that God was not only calling Micah to plant this church, He was calling him to pastor it. Cue the spiritual battle. Satan began to remind Micah of how unqualified he was to take on this role. He was no theology major or master student. He had zero experience pastoring a church or taking care of a flock. God must have had the wrong guy.
Micah quickly lost his argument with God. He was reminded of how God used so many “regular” people just like him to do miraculous things. Scripture holds numerous stories of adulterers, murderers, prostitutes, alcoholics, prideful, or jealous sinners that were used by God to fulfill His plans. The only prerequisite was to love God with all of your heart. Micah trusted that if he was being called, God would supply him with everything he needed. Philippians 4:19 says …“God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory.” Again, Micah was obedient to God’s calling.
In January 2020, with the support of the board, Christian Warriors Ministry became Christian Warriors Church and opened its’ doors with Micah as the lead pastor. This story of obedience continues to change lives today. It takes just one “yes” for countless lives to be led to the feet of Jesus.
If you feel God has called you to do something, we at Christian Warriors Church pray that you listen and obey. If He has called you, He will equip you. One step of obedience, one “yes,” can change the trajectory of someone’s life and point them straight to God. So whether it is planting a church, starting a bible study, or simply going out of your way to help someone in need, surrender to that calling.
We have all been called to be disciples. We have all been called to grow the kingdom. Join us!
“Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything in love.” 1 Corinthians 16: 13-14
Thank you to everyone who has been obedient and helped make Christian Warriors Ministry and Church a reality. It could not have been accomplished without each and every person.
